  • WWE Legend Rumored to Return at WrestlePalooza — First Match in Over 10 Years

In what could be one of the most jaw-dropping returns in modern WWE history, former three-time Divas Champion AJ Lee is reportedly gearing up for her first in-ring match in over a decade — and she won’t be coming alone.

According to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, the plan is for AJ to team up with her husband, CM Punk, in a high-stakes mixed tag team match against WWE power couple Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch at the upcoming WrestlePalooza premium live event on September 20.

Let that sink in.

This potential blockbuster comes hot off the heels of Clash in Paris, where Becky Lynch stunned the WWE Universe by interfering in the World Heavyweight Championship main event — delivering a low blow to CM Punk and helping Rollins retain his title. The controversial finish had fans buzzing immediately, speculating that this was the opening chapter of something massive — and now it looks like they were right.

Alvarez confirmed this week that Punk and AJ vs. Rollins and Lynch is “planned for WrestlePalooza,” a show that’s already drawing headlines as the first WWE premium event to air on ESPN. The stakes? Sky-high. The hype? Off the charts.

If it happens, this will be AJ Lee’s first match since March 30, 2015, when she teamed with Paige and Naomi on Monday Night Raw. Since stepping away from the ring, she’s taken on roles behind the scenes — including a stint as executive producer and commentator for WOW (Women of Wrestling) — but has remained a fan favorite and one of the most demanded comeback stories in the industry.

A recent Fightful Select report added fuel to the fire, noting that internal WWE pitches featuring AJ’s name have been gaining “more traction than ever.” Previously, those discussions would be shut down — now, insiders say the tone has dramatically shifted, especially given Punk’s own successful return following years away from the spotlight.

Also reportedly on tap for WrestlePalooza? A vacant Women’s World Title match and a long-awaited singles clash between John Cena and Brock Lesnar.

But make no mistake — if AJ Lee really does lace up the boots again, all eyes will be on this match. One of the most beloved stars of her era, returning to team with one of wrestling’s most polarizing figures, against WWE’s reigning power couple?
