  • Paddy Pimblett’s Response To Molly McCann Retirement Won’t Age Well

During UFC Fight Night 255 in London, Molly McCann announced her retirement after losing to UFC newcomer Alexia Thainara on the main card.

Liverpool UFC fighter Paddy Pimblett issued a statement following McCann’s decision:

Heartbreaking night last night watching my big sister retire,” Pimblett wrote on Instagram. “Been there with her from the start and will always be there this may be the end of her fighting career, but it’s far from the end of mine and her friendship. That’s till death do us part.

“UKMMA women’s legend first English woman to get a win in the UFC and has one of the best knockouts in women’s UFC and combat sports history, her legacy will live on forever. Emotional isn’t even the word for last night but even when I was crying the meatball will never fail to make me laugh when she said, ‘Haven’t done bad for a lesbo who was working in Subway have I.’ Love u @meatballmolly and always will me big sis.”

McCann was 7-7 in the UFC and lost three of her last four fights, and her legacy will not live on in the UFC. She was a tool used by Dana when she entered the UFC to try and beef MMA up in the UK, but she failed to deliver.

The best thing Molly could have done was retire because she clearly doesn’t have it, especially after her embarrassing performance on the main card in London.

Look, I know it’s rough, but it’s true.

After Saturday night, the entire MMA world in the UK needs to take a hard look at itself because it was not a good night for them.
