Here we go, a UFC fight Night with a great main event.
We’ve got Leon Edwards in a match-up with Sean Brady.
Not only is the UFC headed back to London to see if Edwards can start the road back to retain the UFC welterweight belt after Belal Muhammad knocked him out in July of 2024.
However, he’ll have to earn it because Sean Brady has been on a mission, methodically working his way up the ranks, and wants his shot at the belt.
If you aren’t excited about this fight, you should be. The match-up promises to be high-level. Leon Edwards is not just a tactician; he has championship experience. Brady is a ground expert, but you can’t sleep on his hands.
Except for one match (arguably two), the main card looks better than the pay-per-view a few weeks ago.
Other than the fact that the event is in the UK how the heck Molly McCann got on the main card is mind-boggling. She’s lost three of her last four matches. During her last match, she got her face beat in by Bruna Brasil, who controlled all three rounds of the bout.
Look, I get Molly is part of the Paddy show and everything, and he has a fight coming, but on the main card? She couldn’t have been the featured prelim?
Another fighter I don’t understand who was placed on the main card is Kevin Holland. Look, I love the guy, but he’s lost four of the last five matches.
However, we are also being treated to a fantastic co-main event featuring Jan Blachowicz and Carlos Ulberg which is also promising to be a fantastic high level light heavyweight fight.
The UFC started the month of March off slow with a disappointing pay-per-view and a lack luster fight night but it looks like they’ll end the month with a bang.
Not only do we have a pretty decent main card in London, but we are getting another treat when the UFC heads to Mexico City.
I don’t care who he is fighting, and I will watch Brandon Moreno anytime he’s on the card.
Not only that, the crowd in Mexico City is going to be electric.
