Colby Covington just reminded the internet there’s a massive difference between viral street fights and elite-level MMA — and influencer Chrogman learned that the hard way.
The popular streamer, known for scrapping with randoms and filming it for clout, rolled into the UFC Performance Institute thinking he could hang with a former world title contender. Bad move.
Covington, never one to back down from a challenge, offered Chrogman $30,000 if he could outwork him during a training session. What followed was an absolute clinic. Covington danced around the young influencer, letting him swing freely — before deciding to crank things up. Once he did, the body shots came fast and heavy. Chrogman folded, hit the mat, and literally puked inside the Octagon.
But Covington wasn’t done handing out reality checks.
He gave the 19-year-old another shot at the money — this time, last a minute on the mats without getting submitted. Instead, Covington tapped him twice. Game over.
To his credit, Chrogman took the beatings in stride, and Covington actually gave him some respectful praise after the fact.
“He’s a bright young mind and he’s f***ing got a ton of talent,” Covington said. “You’re 19 years old, I’m 37… I’ve been world champion. Train smarter, not harder. That’s the most important key.”
It was a rare moment of humility from the famously brash fighter — but make no mistake, Covington’s message was loud and clear: There are levels to this game.
Covington hasn’t had much success in official UFC action lately — he’s winless since March 2022 and was knocked out by Joaquin Buckley last December at UFC Tampa — but when it comes to separating real fighters from social media stars, he’s still in a league of his own.
Chrogman may have heart, but Covington brought the hammer — and reminded everyone that hype doesn’t survive in the cage.
