WWE superstar Becky Lynch isn’t shying away from controversy — and this time, she may have gone too far.
During Monday night’s episode of “Raw” in Birmingham, England, the Irish wrestling icon took a direct shot at the late Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary frontman of Black Sabbath and a beloved Birmingham native who passed away in July.
“I am not wrestling in Birmingham,” Lynch said during a cold-blooded promo. “The only good thing that came out of here died a month ago. Ozzy Osbourne had the good sense to move to LA, a proper city. If I lived in Birmingham, I’d die too.”
Oof. That line didn’t just cross the line — it obliterated it.
Unsurprisingly, the backlash was immediate. While some fans appreciated the “heel heat” and called the line classic wrestling provocation, many others saw Lynch’s comments as a cheap, tasteless shot at a music icon who hasn’t even been gone two months.
Among those leading the charge? Kelly Osbourne, daughter of the rock legend, who torched Lynch in an Instagram story.
“Becky Lynch you are a disrespectful dirtbag. Birmingham would not p— on you if you were on fire. #BirminghamForever,” she wrote, blasting both Lynch and WWE for greenlighting the remark. “Shame on the WWE for allowing such things to be said about my father and his home.”

Some fans echoed Kelly’s outrage, calling the promo “tone-deaf” and “desperate for attention.” One wrote, “If she ended this after saying ‘at least he had the good sense to leave this s—hole hurhurhur’ it would’ve been a decent bit. But in true pro wrestler fashion, she let the dorky voice in her head win and overdid it.”

Others defended the move, noting that Lynch’s job is to stir controversy. “It’s called heel promo. Try to understand. She didn’t say anything bad about him, just said Birmingham sucks,” one fan clapped back.
At the end of the day, Lynch did what every top-tier wrestling villain does: generate buzz. But as the line between entertainment and real-life grief gets blurrier, critics are asking—where’s the line?
For now, WWE has remained silent. But with the storm building online and the Osbourne family speaking out, the ring may not be the only place Lynch faces heat.
